Dubai, United Arab Emireates -- A court in Dubai issued Wednesday a verdict to jail a steward and a stewardess working in Emirates Airlines after condemning them for exchanging "sexual text messages through mobile phones, according to what affirmed a spokesman for the company.

The spokesman confirmed to CNN Arabic the news of the court ruling about the two employees, and said that the company "respects the decisions of the Emirati judiciary" and laws and regulations in force in the state of the United Arab Emirates.
